About the business
Locksmiths in Portland since 2009. Licensed, insured, and quiet about it until you need us.
We started Ironwood because the lock on our own back door was the worst lock on the street, and nobody would tell us what to do about it.
Now every call starts the same way. We give you a price on the phone, we check who you are before anyone opens a door, and we try the lock you have before we suggest a new one. If we would drill, we ask first.

How a call-out goes.
-

1
You call, we quote
We give you the price on the phone and tell you who is coming. The price we quote is the price you pay for the work described.
-

2
We check who you are
The technician asks for photo ID and confirms you own or manage the property before opening anything.
-

3
We work without damage first
Picks and tension tools open most locks cleanly. Drilling is a last resort, and we ask you before we do it.
-

4
You see the lock before you pay
We test the lock with you present, show what was done, and explain any part we would recommend.
Questions we are asked most.
Will you damage my door or lock?
Not if we can avoid it. Picks and tension tools open most locks cleanly. We only drill after we have explained why, and you agree to it.
How do you price a lockout?
We quote a fixed price on the phone for the time window you need. The price we quote is the price you pay for the work described. Parts we recommend are shown to you before they are fitted.
Do I need to show ID?
Yes. Before we open a door, the technician checks that you own or manage the property. This protects you as much as anyone.
Which lock should I fit to a front door?
A Grade 1 deadbolt is the strongest standard residential choice, with a reinforced strike plate and longer screws into the frame. A grade describes how the lock is tested under the ANSI/BHMA standards, not a brand.
Locked out, or planning ahead? A call now sets up both.
