Rekey: new pins, same lock
New pins to match a new key set, so old keys stop working. The lock and the door stay as they are.
A rekey changes the pins inside a cylinder so it accepts a new key set. The body of the lock is kept, which makes it the cheapest way to secure a home after a move or a lost key.
We rekey up to two cylinders on a single visit. Your new keys are cut to the new pin set and checked in the lock before you leave.
